We seek a highly motivated Corporate and Foundation Relations Manager (CFRM) who will be responsible for building and sustaining mutually beneficial relationships with foundations, corporations, organizations, and individuals for advancing the mission and priorities of the VCCS and to write creative and compelling proposals for philanthropic support. This person will identify, research, analyze, and profile prospective foundations and corporate partners, as well as independently identify foundation relationships to formulate and execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies. The CFRM assists and actively strategizes with administration across departments to cultivate corporate and foundation relationships, and in developing and writing letters of intent, proposals, and reports. This position also serves as the principal writer for the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education.
Working in partnership with internal constituents at all levels to plan and coordinate the solicitation of corporate, foundation, and individual gifts.
Serving as lead writer on individual Principal Gift proposals. Will work in partnership with the Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement in full development, editing, and coordinating of written proposals.
Independently helping to identify and support foundation, corporate, and individual relationships to assist in formulation of overall strategy and then execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
Participating in all phases of the corporate, foundation, and individual relationship cycle, including identifying funding opportunities; conducting discovery meetings; developing cultivation and solicitations tactics; composing, editing, submitting and/or coordinating written proposals and budgets; and ensuring appropriate stewardship and reporting.
Identifying, analyzing, and profiling prospective corporate, foundation, and individual donors for projects that have been approved by leadership.
Tracking all grants in Donor Perfect to maintain up-to-date warehouse of philanthropic grants.
Serving as Foundation contact with grants managers in other departments to stay abreast of all activity and ensure appropriate tracking.
Relevant education and experience that allows the incumbent to perform the essential functions of the position.
Experience in coordinating processes or programs.
Experience working with a diverse group of people.
Experience in writing grants or fundraising requests.
High level organizational, project management, writing, technical skills, creativity, discretion, and independent judgment.
Undergraduate degree or higher with considerable relevant experience in a higher education environment.
Familiarity with donor database systems, including Donor Perfect.
