The Operations and Planning Manager is responsible for providing both operational and strategic support within Thrivent Holdings. Working under the direction of the Director, Strategic Operations the Operations and Planning Manager will work to develop the necessary infrastructure for Thrivent Holdings including: annual planning, metric development and presentation, and business performance reporting. In addition, the Operations and Planning Manager will support longer term strategic initiatives for Thrivent Holdings and manage other special projects as needed. The Operations and Planning Manager also acts as a liaison between Thrivent Holdings and other areas within Thrivent Financial.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Guide the development of Thrivent Holdings metric definitions and reporting protocol, including necessary integration with Thrivent Financial (25%)
Provide leadership for divisional planning and business reporting - including the annual planning process, quarterly business reviews and reporting to the TFL Board of Directors (25%)
Provide direction and support to projects of high strategic importance within Thrivent Holdings (25%)
Act as liaison across Thrivent Holdings businesses and to strategic partners within Thrivent Financial (15%)
Conduct external research, synthesize findings and develop recommendations to inform strategic priorities within Thrivent Holdings (10%)
The Operations and Planning Manager will need to determine a solution for how to present and verify Thrivent Holdings business results on a regular basis. This will entail working with the individual Thrivent Holdings businesses and with key Thrivent Financial functions (Research, Analysis and Consulting & Information Technology). Project planning, understanding of data analytics and communication skills will be required. This will directly impact strategic decision making and Thrivent Holdings investment priorities.
The Operations and Planning Manager will work with the Director, Strategic Operations to determine how to identify and prioritize new business concepts for development or investment within Thrivent Holdings. This will impact longer-term strategic planning within Holdings.
The Operations and Planning Manager will play a key role in developing a nurturing strategy for new Holdings members. This will be critical to the success of Thrivent Holdings.
The Operations and Planning Manager will be responsible for creating executive-level presentations appropriate for Thrivent’s CEO and Senior Leadership Team, and Board of Directors
College degree required; master’s degree preferred
Exceptional problem solving skills, inquisitive, willingness to take risks
High level of broad business acumen; external experience a plus
Ability to multi-task and work independently in an evolving, fast-paced environment
Comfortable working in highly ambiguous situations; Self-starter, high energy
