We are looking for the ideal VP of Parking to be responsible for providing leadership, expertise and management of parking throughout The District Detroit.
This position requires a leader who is able to provide innovative parking solutions that support the venue experience our customers expect to deliver to their audience. In short, the goal of this position is to lead the Parking Department in development, planning, and implementation of our parking strategy. Most importantly this role requires the passion and experience to run parking operations according to Olympia’s guiding principles of integrity, excellent customer service and increasing efficiency.

As the Parking ambassador for the company, you fortify existing partnerships with customers and key stakeholders in order to lay the ground for future lines of business.
As a champion of innovation, you love researching new parking technologies that other companies have adopted in local, national and international markets. Then you devise strategies to integrate proven solutions into Olympia’s parking operations.
You have your hand on the pulse of parking industry compliance measures. Through your interactions with outside organizations, including state and local agencies, you ensure all federal, state and local regulations are accounted for under your area of responsibility. This includes reviewing and recommending revisions to city ordinances related to parking.
As a networker with like-minded professionals in the industry, you represent the company in various speaking engagement and presentations on parking and transportation initiatives to help uncover new opportunities in the market.

What You Need To Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a closely related field
Broad based P& L parking management experience including
Demonstrated ability to maximize revenues
Preventative maintenance/capital improvements of parking assets
Managing parking operations for deck and lot systems
Managing parking functions involving large venues, special events, residential, office and retail
Minimum of ten (10) or more years of job related experience.
Evidence of being a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement processes and plans.
Evidence of planning acumen, analytical expertise and long-term strategic outlook with proven results.
Evidence of a successful leadership track record with high ethical standards.
Working knowledge of parking best practices and applying technologies to maximize service, administration and revenues.
Demonstrated communication effectiveness in all forms and the ability to educate and inform broad audiences with evidence of well-developed influencing, persuasion and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of Federal, State, Local and parking laws.
Proficient at Microsoft applications. Internet, professional databases. Evidence of knowledge of current technologies and remain up to date with processes and best practices emerging in the industry.
