In this role, you'll use your strong customer service orientation and knowledge of insurance claims to serve as an advocate for providers in our networks. The Senior Provider Relations Advocate is responsible for the full range of provider relations and service interactions within UnitedHealth Group, including working on end-to-end provider claim and call quality, ease of use of physician portal and future service enhancements, and training & development of external provider education programs. Senior Provider Relations Advocates design and implement programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers (physician, hospital, ancillary, etc.), and practice managers. Responsibilities also include directing and implementing strategies relating to the development and management of a provider network, identifying gaps in network composition and services to assist the network contracting and development staff in prioritizing contracting needs, and may also be involved in identifying and remediating operational short-falls and researching and remediating claims. Positions in this function are accountable for the full range of provider relations and service interactions within UHG, including working on end-to-end provider claim and call quality, ease of use of physician portal and future service enhancements, and training & development of external provider education programs. Designs and implements programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers (physician, hospital, ancillary, etc.), and practice managers. Directs and implements strategies relating to the development and management of a provider network. Identifies gaps in network composition and services to assist the network contracting and development staff in prioritizing contracting needs. May also be involved in identifying and remediating operational short-falls and researching and remediating claims. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the Northern California area as you take on some tough challenges. Required Qualifications:Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience3+ years of provider relations and/or provider network experience (ancillary and/or hospital)Intermediate level of proficiency in claims processing and issue resolutionIntermediate level experience with MS Word and ExcelExceptional presentation, written and verbal communication skillsReside in Sacramento Bay Area and ability to travel regionally about 25% Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Medicare regulationsExperience with MS PowerPoint and AccessAbility to work independently and remain on taskGood organization and planning skillsAbility to prioritize and meet deadlines from multiple staff members within the departmentThe health system is moving ahead.
