A highly responsible managerial position, under the direction of the City Manager or designee, in directing the operations of the Public Works Department. The focus for this position is on the administration of the department as a whole more than the technical aspects of the work, with a strategic management/performance-based approach. Work in this class requires the employee to work effectively with elected and appointed officials, department directors, private consultants and contractors, other employees and the general public. Work is reviewed by the City Manager in conferences with the employee, through progress reports, and evaluation of attainment of goals and objectives.

establish, maintain and improve standards within the city infrastructure.
A commitment to team based management.
Ten (10) years of experience in public administration, management, and civil engineering. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and maintenance of a clean driving history. Licensed with the Florida Board of Professional Engineers preferred. Advanced Maintenance of Traffic Certificate must be obtained within one (1) year from date of hire. Six Sigma Certification preferred.
