The Clinical Applications Specialist acts independently to provide specific training and clinical support related to the acquisition, implementation, and use of MHS' Epic Inpatient applications portfolio. Applications Specialists apply specific clinical knowledge and expertise to modify and enhance the Epic Clinical Documentation module, as well as identify and implement optimal system solutions. Incumbent team members function as key liaisons for user contact and customer service on behalf of information services and are accountable for end-user satisfaction. Individuals in this job classification may also assist in the development of training materials and may participate as educators for end-users as related to specific information systems and services. Clinical Applications Specialists provide feedback and may make recommendations to management and project directors, ensuring that the organization's goals, philosophies, and objectives are optimally supported by information technology.
The EpicCare Inpatient analyst role is expected to work with the various Epic teams to maintain current system build and implement new projects and system functionalities. This role will be a hybrid role between the ASAP module and Clin Doc module to partake in issue resolution and project management where resources are needed.
Build and analytical experience with EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Document or ASAP module.
Highly analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Superior and obvious communications skills, both verbal and written.
Specific credentialing in application modules and/or technologies highly preferred (e.g. Epic).
Working knowledge of PCs, collaborative computing tools, re-engineering/process improvement techniques, healthcare information management, general information architectures and technology, systems integration, laws, and regulations relevant to assigned applications.
Minimum of 4 years progressive nursing, pharmacy and/or exceptional clinical IT experience, significant and successful clinical project management.
Knowledge of healthcare and evolving industry standards/challenges.
High energy levels and tolerance of tight deadlines, time pressures, and ambiguity.
Analytical and build experience with Meaningful Use and Quality Measures.
Clinical experience is highly desired.
Ability to juggle between different projects and project tasks and issues.
Coordination of issue or project resolution with clinical subject matter experts
BS degree in clinical or discipline or equivalent business experience in a related field preferred. Licensure as RN, Pharmacy, Laboratory, MRA or other healthcare business area (preferred).
Epic certification in one or more of the following:
EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation (2015 NVT or higher)
EpicCare Inpatient ASAP (2015 NVT or higher)
