Established in 1920, Bentley is a K-12 co-educational independent school with an enrollment of 700 students. Located on two beautiful campuses in Oakland (K-8) and Lafayette (9-12), Bentley is an inclusive community that shares a vision of strong academics, transformative learning, and respect for the individual. Bentley seeks a dynamic, experienced individual to identify, recruit, admit, and retain qualified students from mission-minded families for its K-8 program. The successful individual will have a strong work ethic and high energy to devote internally and externally to identifying and recruiting mission-minded families. The Associate Director of Admissions reports to the Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid, K-12 and works closely with the Associate Director of Admissions, 9-12. The Associate Director of Admissions sits on the K-8 Administrative Team.
Provide management, oversight, and leadership for the student recruitment efforts and application process for K-8.
Prioritize visiting and building strong relationships with local feeder schools to ensure a continued robust partnership with Bentley.
Review all applications for admissions and financial aid.
Serve as primary representative at admissions events including, but not limited, to fairs, open houses, and tours as needed.
Lead Admissions Committee through file review and decision making process.
Coordinate admissions calendar with the Upper School Admissions Office.
Serve as a member of the school K-8 administrative team.
Work closely with Division Directors, Registrar, Deans, and other key K-8 offices to assure a smooth transition for prospective families.
Contribute to the publications that are part of the recruitment and admissions effort including, but not limited to, the viewbook, electronic publications, special handouts and promotions for admissions events.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the admissions database, Ravenna, to assist with board reporting and data analysis.
Partner with the Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid and the CFO on financial aid decisions for current and new K-8 families.
Work with the Associate Director of Admissions, 9-12 and the Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid to prepare and manage the admissions budget.
Participate in school-wide events and activities as appropriate.
Keep abreast of enrollment management strategies and trends by attending professional development conferences and workshops.
Minimum of three years of experience in an independent school admissions office preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to be highly confidential in handling sensitive personal and institutional knowledge
Self-starter who has the capacity to plan, execute, and evaluate enrollment plans
Ability to collaborate well in a school and team environment
Fluency in Microsoft applications and Google applications required. Experience with Ravenna preferred.
