Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Establish and lead the Quality function across the division.
Face of Quality for the division both internal and external.
Establish a Vision for Quality and maintain a roadmap for implementation, goals & objectives, & related initiatives.
Maintain effective customer interaction at various level from engineers to executives.
Ensure end-to-end coordination & execution of processes & standards, related KPI’s, and feedback loops across the organization.
Lead the divisional SPC, data collection, and In-cell gaging initiatives.
Be a collaborative partner to NPI, Operations, and other key stakeholders to ensure ongoing alignment
Establish Quality certification processes & related standards including audits
Lead and develop the Quality team
Establish a Material Review Board or similar process for dispositioning discrepant materials
Ensure Quality metrics are reflective of, and consistent with, Customer perspectives and corporate initiatives.
Work closely with the corporate operational excellence team to align KPIs and improvement plans.
Provide CAPA system leadership for the division.
Provide leadership to the supplier quality organization.
Work with suppliers on Continuous Improvement of Quality through application of quality tools along with Lean and other techniques.
Support development of a Learning Organization and contribution to Quality at the roots and at all level by all associates through awareness, communication, education, Quality Circles, suggestion program, etc.
Take lead responsibility for significant quality issues. Be “hands on” with the issue, develop a plan to resolve the issue, communicate the plan and progress on the plan to the organization.
Review and negotiate Customer Quality Agreements.
BS in Engineering: Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical.
10+ years of experience in Quality related role(s) including 5+ years of experience in a production manufacturing environment preferably in a precision machining environment.
The ability to energize & influence others, work effectively with all levels in an organization and move teams toward a common vision or goal.
Proven background & technical skills related to problem solving, root cause, corrective action, & continuous improvement
Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Experience working in a global quality environment including Asia and Mexico
Experience collaborating closely with and advising senior leadership and executives.
MS in Industrial or Quality Engineering and / or MBA
Strong Six Sigma background, preferably a Master Black Belt / Black Belt through ASQ or reputable company.
CQE/CQM or similar certification
Proficiency in project management approaches and tools.
Ability to work effectively in an environment where tact, sensitivity, respect, tenacity, persuasive ability, and decisiveness are required for success
A strong advocate of Lean Enterprise and a proven leader of continuous improvement.
The ability to articulate technical issues at an understandable level to a variety of stakeholders across the organization.
At least 10 years of experience leading, implementing and managing enterprise-wide Quality Management Systems for global organizations.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, strong knowledge of AS9100 / TS 16949 / ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Hands on SPC, DOE, and MSA experience.
DFM experience in a precision manufacturing industry.
Lean Manufacturing experience is very important. Certification is added bonus.
Lead auditor qualification in Medical, Aerospace or Automotive
Strong understanding of Engineering Change Controls, DNC program controls, and Configuration management.
Experience in leading or bring part of product development department is an added bonus.
Regulatory experience such as FDA or FAA preferred.
10+ years of relevant quality experience. 5+ years in a leadership role in a multiple or large site. Education Requirements
• 4-year college technical degree. • Six Sigma Black Belt through ASQ or reputable company. • MBA or MS Industrial Engineering Preferred.
