KSQ Design is a national design firm specializing in collegiate student life facilities, campus planning, multifamily housing, senior housing, mixed-use developments, K-12 education, and healthcare. KSQ seeks a Marketing Manager to build and lead our marketing team located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as well as support our marketing efforts nationwide. This position requires an enthusiastic self-starter who is a versatile producer with a strong graphic eye and excellent writing skills.
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing campaigns and strategies designed to generate leads and build brand awareness for KSQ. This individual will work closely with the firm’s leadership to put in place programs, proposals and presentations to promote and grow the firm’s business. The Marketing Manager will help maintain standards for the firm’s image and brand, both internally and externally. The Marketing Manager will also serve as a resource for all KSQ offices and departments for marketing and/or communications needs.
This role works independently as a member of the Marketing Team and reports to Firm Leadership.
Works with firm leadership to develop department goals and objectives, and establishes and implements policies and procedures for department operation.
Develops and recommends department operating budgets as necessary and ensures that department operates within budget.
Develops and executes annual marketing plan, working across the organization to ensure that strategies and initiatives are aligned with firm objectives.
Works closely with market leaders to ensure tools meet the needs of the target segment
Drives multi-channel client retention efforts
Supervises, develops and evaluates the marketing staff
Pursues strategic alliances, partnerships and co-marketing opportunities
Strategizes on market segmentation activities
Leads the company’s efforts at creating additional, profitable, new business/brand opportunities, which may exist in current markets, or lead into adjacent markets.
Designs, moderates and interprets results from qualitative research to make branding recommendations. Projects may encompass elements of: developing communication strategies; analyzing or creating brand attributes and brand positioning; consulting on the creation of naming and visual identity; ensuring the successful translation of brand attributes in execution.
Facilitates productive relationships and flow of ideas. Effectively communicates creative concepts and responds quickly to business needs. Possesses energy, passion, and a desire to deliver innovative, successful solutions for internal and external clients.
Provides strong written communications for the firm including but not limited to press releases, corporate blogs, email blasts proposal writing and editing as required.
Interacts effectively with all levels of management and staff: works with internal clients to support strategic thinking, ensure key strategic objectives are met.
Directs all marketing and advertising initiatives, communications, community relations/public relations and marketing efforts.
Directs priorities for projects, and associated timelines. Identifies and recommends new opportunities for design and production materials in support of communicating and marketing KSQ’s Markets and Services. Ensures accuracy and consistency in all messages.
Acts as a final editor and provides final approvals on marketing and communication deliverables
Budget management - sets budget working with firm leadership, reviews, amends, analyzes and reports on expenditures as business requirements demand.
Team management - creates an environment that encourages team members to reach their full potential. Coaches and develops team members as they progress their careers.
Works with Marketing Coordinator(s) to create proposals, presentations and provide other marketing support, as needed, for client and prospect meetings and proposals.
Helps ensure the Company’s messaging promotes and highlights the firm’s core values and business strategy in a consistent, professional, and coordinated manner.
Develops content of presentations for interviews, internal staff meetings and conferences.
Lead the design, development, and implementation of strategic marketing plans consistent with the firm’s long-range goals and objectives.
Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
Must have above average organizational skills and strong multi-tasking abilities
Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely and a willingness to share ideas with individuals at all levels, business acumen, and previous experience managing a team of individuals
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
Fast paced, quick thinker, highly responsive and pro-active
Ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines
Must be able to effectively manage challenging situations
Must be able to work effectively on a team
Successful candidates will have a minimum of 8-10 years prior experience (preferably within the design or A/E/C industry), strong writing skills, and a strong understanding of graphic design and software, including Adobe CS.
