Objectives: The primary objective of the Service Advisor is to perform all duties in the best interest of the firm’s clients, devote such attentions and energies as deemed appropriate to rendering qualified financial planning services in order to promote the services and products offered by the firm and to comply with all policies and procedures, applicable federal and state regulations and those of our broker-dealer. There will be opportunity to advance through the career path of Financial Planners at Houston Asset Management that may lead to potential ownership.
Major Accountabilities Include:
Prepare for and participate in client meetings or in collaboration with Senior Advisors. Take and document notes on the discussions in the meetings. Establish working relationship with clients during data gathering and planning process. Follow up with clients in an efficient, timely manner.
Provide support to client inquiries and delegate implementation duties to CSR if required.
Prepare client financial plans that are thorough, accurate, and easy for clients to understand. This requires an excellent understanding of financial planning software (MoneyGuide Pro) and superior writing skills. Elements of the financial plan should be consistent with CFP® Board definitions/ standards.
Proactively communicate with the Senior Advisors regarding work in progress and prospective pipeline and assist them with client communication, agendas, summary letters, and recommendations.
Contribute to the firm’s business development and growth.
Qualifications: We are looking for a highly organized and detailed team player that has a positive attitude, who takes ownership, is self-motivated, ethical and professional, with excellent communication and math skills. At minimum, a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.B.A.) from four-year College or university is required. In addition, you must have successfully passed the CFP® Certification Exam and currently working on or have obtain the experience levels as required by the board. If FINRA or insurance licensing not already acquired, then you will need to successfully obtain the Series 7 and 63, as well as Texas insurance license within 6 months.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient knowledge of: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows 7 & 10. In addition, we utilize Worldox, MoneyGuide Pro, Morningstar Office Workstation and Junxure CRM. Knowledge and experience in those programs are a plus but not required.
