Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
One year RN experience Required
Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
Current Colorado RN license/ Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact
Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required;
Additional certifications may be required (refer to facility addendum(s)
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly.
ADDITIONAL UNIT SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS REQUIRED:
Provides case/care management to group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management and acts as patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care.
Provides efficient and effective care with the guidance of the physician during the clinic sessions, attends the clinics where scheduled and is dependable. Able to manage a number of patients at the same with high energy and organization.
Collaborates with other health care providers, wound care center Physicians, Program Directors, and Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs.
Is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chambers and related support systems as needed.
- Assists in patient education/preparation for treatment;
- Keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment;
- Maintains competencies, continuing education and certifications as appropriate;
- Ensures patients tolerate pressurization and depressurization in the Hyperbaric Chamber;
- Complete full medical assessment of patients prior to and post Hyperbaric treatment – including, but not limited to vital signs and blood glucose testing.
Must attend week long Advanced Wound & Hyperbaric Medicine Course in Jacksonville, FL.
