Overview: We are a Chicago Area construction, real estate development and materials company with our main office in Bartlett, IL. We are seeking and full-time experienced Civil Engineer or Construction Manager who has a BSCE or BSCM and 5-10 years of experience in this discipline. The candidate should have the ability to multitask, have good oral and written communications skills and be able to work in construction field conditions. The position will be 60% in the field and 40% in the office. Microsoft Office and AutoCAD skills required and surveying capabilities would be a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The position’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project design, budgets and scheduling
CAD Design and drafting
Construction surveying and layout
Maintain grades for construction
Assist crews with daily project management
Daily crew reports
Track daily production
Real Estate Development / Construction Projects
Designs, budgets and scheduling
Manage subcontractors and crew schedules
Track project quantities for pay estimate approvals
Topography and Volume estimates
Construction survey drawings
Construction Plans and as-builts
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelors in Engineering required - Civil Engineer (BSCE), or Construction Management (BSCM)
5-10 years of relevant project experience and progressively responsible Engineering experience
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) Not required but would be considered a plus.
Strong technical, creative/design performance, communication, team-work, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and manage multiple priorities as required.
The preferred candidate will have knowledge of industrial and commercial construction and be familiar with the terminology of such an office.
Surveying background – GPS-Topcon, not required but would be considered a plus.
AutoCAD/Civil 3D knowledge, not required but would be considered a plus.
Hours: This is a full-time position. The typical hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, however the work schedule may vary depending upon the workflow of the office. Overtime as needed to include evenings, weekends and holidays.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, bend, climb and crawl to inspect equipment. This position requires the ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. The work environment is usually dirty, dusty, and noisy, and is subject to inclement or extreme weather conditions. This position will require travel to various job sites (typically 1-2 hours from the office)
A pre-employment background check, driver’s license check, and drug screen is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to local project sites and worked extended hours as required.
