KaBOOM! is seeking a Vice President, Talent, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to lead the strategy and operations of the organization’s human capital function. The VP is a member of the KaBOOM! senior team and plays a critical role in cultivating a culture that encourages diversity, inclusion, excellence, collaboration, and serious play. The top candidate will bring boundless energy, creativity, and passion for the KaBOOM! mission along with a proven record of successfully leading all aspects of an organization’s talent function. The VP will bring best practices and innovative approaches to ensure KaBOOM! recruits, trains, manages, promotes, and fairly compensates the best and brightest talent.
Lead a human capital strategy that reflects a deep understanding of the unique needs of KaBOOM!; bring innovative ideas and best practices from other high-performing organizations
Lead the operational plan in each human capital function: recruiting, onboarding, learning and development, evaluation, and compensation
Develop and implement a diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy, including partnering with the DEI Taskforce for program implementation
Serve as the KaBOOM! lead culture ambassador; develop and execute events and initiatives to promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, excellence, collaboration, and serious play
Deliver clear and timely communications on strategies, operations, and policies related to the human capital function
Monitor, measure, and report relevant accomplishments and issues to the senior team and Board
Manage all human capital related data and technology systems
Ensure human capital policies and procedures comply with all local, state, and federal employment laws
Manage a team of administrators, recruiters, and IT professionals
Genuine passion for the KaBOOM! mission, as evidenced by relevant experience working or volunteering for a youth-serving nonprofit
More than 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 in a senior executive human capital function
Experience developing and implementing a human capital strategy, including diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
Extensive experience collaborating and communicating with senior executives
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Strong command of technology, including Microsoft Office applications, and HR software
Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills
Strong customer-service ethic and a positive attitude
