Responsible for leveraging internal and external talent from the startup, university, industry and non-industry communities to use innovative processes and technologies to advance the vision of the Airport in support of the Kenton County Airport Board’s Strategic Plan. Provides direction and support for daily and forward-looking activities to bring pilot concepts to strategic deployment for the benefit of the Airport community at large as well as cultivating industry advancements on a global scale. Under the guidance of the Director of Innovation, the Sr. Manager will require a deep understanding of the business and industry and serve as an innovation facilitator and guide to the business. They will have significant interaction and liaise among staff, startup ecosystems, university, community and corporate partners to help drive solutions to assist the Airport in achieving its strategic goals as well as being an outstanding community accelerator and venture customer.

Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
Collaborate effectively with business teams to identify opportunities for innovative solutions.
Translate industry and company challenges into innovation opportunities in alignment with business objectives.
Listen to business leaders to identify issues at their root cause.
Provide business and industry perspective to company’s innovation process and goals.
Help to identify the right talent for problem-centered teams.
Help develop build innovation framework, tools and methodology.
Understand business and industry needs, trends and opportunities.
Help to generate innovation opportunities in alignment with business objectives.
Liaise with university partners to find talent, leverage capabilities and drive solutions.
Help to identify and leverage growth opportunities to increase revenue and enhance profitability.
Help to create a customer-centric, results-oriented and culture that focuses on strategic vision of the company.
Works closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, evaluate, recommend, implement and support-cost-effective and innovative technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
Performs budgeting and acquisition of hardware, software related items.
Performs related capital project planning and budgeting.
Develop and evaluate RFP’s and bids as needed.
Provides information for internal and external related audits and develops and implements policy and produces changes in response to audit findings.
Responsible for all contract management activities as documented in KCAB Policy 1014, Contract Management. As the subject matter expert responsible for all key aspects of contract management ensuring KCAB’s interest are represented in any business activities regarding the agreement.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field to the area of assignment and seven years of related innovation and startup ecosystem experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance
Obtain and maintain position appropriate NIMS and emergency training
Airport operations, policies and procedures;
Network protocols and technologies;
Demonstrated success in driving innovation and change;
Strategic thought leadership including developing strategies from scratch;
Comfort with financial analysis and business case development;
Ability to identify, evaluate and communicate value propositions;
Ability to explore and work with third parties to identify partnership opportunities to drive innovation;

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously;

Expertise scaling a new product or technology;
Demonstrated skill in directing and managing staff efficiently and effectively;
