We are currently seeking applicants for a Reliability Compliance Specialist in our Executive Division, located in Springfield, Missouri. This position is responsible for managing risk for compliance standards with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), and the SERC Reliability Corporation (SERC). This position completes risk assessments, identifies and tests internal controls; evaluates newly acquired facilities and incorporates them into the NERC/SERC compliance program; consults all phases of a NERC/SERC audit or review; ensures regulatory filings are completed; and provides training to staff. Initial focus of this position will be implementation of the NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards but could expand to non-CIP NERC Standards as well. This position reviews and interprets compliance standards and represents AECI at industry sponsored events. Travel is estimated at 20%.
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or demonstrate comparable experience. All levels of experience will be considered with a preference for candidates with at least five years of related experience. Applicants will demonstrate utility regulatory compliance experience as well as an understanding of risk management. Previous utility experience such as operations, maintenance, engineering or project management is preferred. An understanding of transmission sub-systems that interconnect with power generating systems is desired. Strong attention to detail and effectively managing multiple tasks and/or projects is essential. The individual must be extremely self-motivated and possess the ability to analyze and resolve problems.
