Centenary College seeks an Instructional Technologist that works directly with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement technology-based instructional practices, online content, classes, courses, and programs. The Instructional Technologist will incorporate sound instructional design principles to create and support technology-enhanced learning at the college, including online, blended, and other digital pedagogies.
· Designs, develops, and delivers workshops and training for faculty and staff in the use of instructional technologies and educational best practices.
Consults with faculty and students to determine instructional technology needs for a more effective learning environment.
Actively participates in higher education conversations about developments in technology-based instruction, stays current and educates faculty and staff on new opportunities.
Works closely with Academic Affairs to plan, facilitate, and manage the implementation of new technologies on-campus for the use of instruction.
Conducts research studies evaluating the use of technologies and their impact on student learning outcomes.
Evaluates new technologies to discover new and better ways to enhance instruction or administrative operations.
Assists faculty, staff, and students on the use of Microsoft Office, Office365, and other classroom and/or administrative technologies.
Takes responsibility for delivering online content, classes, courses and programs to market in order to broaden the College’s educational delivery modes and revenue streams.
Utilize mobile computing beyond the confines of the office for the purpose of assisting faculty, staff, and students with information technology needs.
Accessible and reachable by telephone or text messaging at times other than College business hours for the purpose of assisting faculty, staff, and students with immediate information technology needs.

Two years instructional design and development work experience.
Proficient in using and demonstrating web and media based technologies for education.
Proficient in using and demonstrating classroom technologies.
Experience with Learning Management Systems.
Must be people-oriented individual, have good communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
Well organized and self-motivated.
Must be able to fulfill job requirements in a high-energy, high-traffic area.
An advanced degree in instructional design, education, computer science, media, instructional technology, or related field.
Experience at a residential liberal arts college.
Experience with Canvas.
Intermediate to advanced skill in the use of Windows 7 and 10, Apple OS and iOS, Microsoft Office applications, including Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
Proficient in the use of classroom and media based technologies, including but not limited to Office365, videoconferencing, cloud storage, Adobe Creative Suite, smartboards, document cameras, classroom response systems, Apple TVs and tablets.
