The Sports Nutritionist will assist student-athletes with best practices for hydration, optimizing energy during training, after training, and establishing proper meal patterns. • Including personal and team meal preparation and;

This position will teach our student-athletes how to cook and prepare nutritious meals, snacks and be able to write menus for culturally diverse population.
The Sports Nutritionist will mentor possible graduate/undergraduate students who are interning with CSU’s Athletics Department.
The Sports Nutritionist must have proven operational skill sets to help with scheduling, budgeting and purchasing.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Working in conjunction with CSU’s food service vendor to establish and maintain a proper nutritional program for the student-athletes. Maintain and operate product labeling system for the department, which requires full knowledge of principles and practices of nutrition.
Develop and maintain a labeling system for food service menu items. Monitor and supervise CSU Athletics Fueling Station. Conduct a frequent audit of the food labels on campus. Research information for new products and new recipes for allergens and analyze each ingredient. Responsible for training all coaches and student-athletes in consuming the proper food for nutritional value. This position will also maintain nutritional information, food allergen data, and analyze ingredients of recipes for nutrition value.
The Sports Nutritionist will be called upon to provide athlete case management and to whole-heartedly support a culture free of doping practices with our student-athletes.
This position will be called upon to help recruit student-athletes and represent CSU Athletics at relevant seminars, symposiums, conventions, etc.
Must be a Registered Dietician • Bachelor’s degree is required • Two (2) years of work experience as a Registered Dietician with college, professional, or other athletic programs • Culinary experience is required • Be able to obtain a food handler permit prior to hire date • Have strong speaking skills or public relations experience • Willingness to travel • A demonstrated knowledge of NCAA’s drug and nutritional supplement policy
