Provide analytical support and perform analytical duties to support the power supply department. Perform pre-schedule functions for PNGC’s power and transmission portfolio. Build a working knowledge of PNGC members, the cooperative utility business model, and other aspects of BPA customer relationships. Manage and create load forecasts to support power supply department. Participate in the preparation of reports and recommendations to Board of Directors. Maintain a working knowledge of northwest and adjacent markets energy landscape. Ensure that the above are carried out and coordinated in a manner consistent with PNGC’s overall financial and policy objectives.
DUTIES: (include the following types of tasks)
Perform pre-schedule functions on a daily basis on a rotation with the Senior Power Analyst.
Manage PNGC’s short-term transmission portfolio.
Complete end-of-month reporting for power supply department as needed by PNGC Accounting and Finance group.
Provide analytical support for PNGC’s power supply department, including monthly reporting and metric tracking.
Manage PNGC’s short-term load forecasting process utilizing ITRON MetrixND software package, or other package as adopted by the power supply department.
Perform long-term load forecasting duties in conjunction with Senior Power Analyst.
Compile and manage economic data to support power supply department, including for integrated resource planning, load forecasting, etc.
Provide backup support for PNGC’s energy efficiency monthly invoicing activities.
Provide analytical support for PNGC’s energy efficiency data.
Management reserves the right to update tasks and responsibilities as it sees fit to manage the objectives of PNGC Power and its Members.
POSITION KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong analytical skills, including statistical analysis, regression and forecasting models.
Effective and appropriate communication, both orally and in writing at all levels within the organization with limited contact with outside partners.
Ability to share complex data in a way that is perceived as respectful and informative.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint, with extensive knowledge of Excel and other analytical tools.
Professional presence which promotes responsible, reliable and efficient work habits.
Able to follow written and oral instructions, and work independently with little supervision.
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, economics, finance, accounting or equivalent experience.
One to three years of experience in the electric utility industry preferred.
