Valley Electric Association, Inc. (VEA) has an immediate opening for a JOURNEYMAN FLEET TECHNICIAN to work in our headquarters located in Pahrump, Nevada.
This position is responsible for providing reliable and continuous service by maintaining and repairing VEA fleet vehicles and equipment in a safe and timely manner.
Valley Electric Association, Inc., (VEA) is a member-owned electric cooperative based in Pahrump, Nevada, with a certified service area covering more than 6,800 square miles in Nevada and California. VEA presently provides service to over 24,000 services with 2,120 line miles of distribution facilities and 13 substations. VEA is a participating transmission owner and load serving entity in the California Independent System of Operators Corporation (CAISO).

Education: High school diploma or an equivalent of education, training, and experience to satisfy the requirements of this position. Complete two-year basic automotive training program from an accredited college or trade school, or six (6) years of experience in automotive, heavy duty truck, aerial lift, cranes, and body systems repair (in a paid employee status) or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Experience: Experience must be sufficient to repair, maintain and assist in the management of all fleet vehicles, equipment and personnel.
Knowledge: Must have a thorough knowledge of equipment and tools used by electric utilities. Working knowledge of service requirements and general techniques of heavy duty vehicle repair.
