Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking manages some of the Bank`s largest and most prestigious domestic and international names. Corporate Banking Ireland & UK is responsible for large corporations including Plc's, multinationals, financial institutions/IFSC groups, semi-states and other large companies across a diverse range of sectors.
The Domestic LAF and Intermediary Origination Team has responsibility for a co-ordinated calling programme on key market intermediaries including large accountancy firms, stockbrokers, corporate finance boutiques and private equity sponsors. The team also acts as a key contact point for scaling SME's transferring into Corporate Banking Ireland from Business Banking ROI and participates in a Joint CB-BB marketing programme nationally.
This role has a strong business development, financial and credit focus.
Purpose of the Role

Research, identify and source ROI based companies that satisfy key origination criteria.
Generate engagement and meetings with potential new customers and key market intermediaries.
Lead pitch process for Bank of Ireland offering to potential new customers and intermediaries typically at a senior level.
Formulate, model and structure appropriate debt packages for internal/external presentation.
Prepare detailed submissions on an individual and joint basis to Corporate Credit where appropriate.
Leverage from excellent existing internal and external network.
Generate cross-selling opportunities from Bank of Ireland product offering.
Attend key networking events with a requirement for travel.
Ensure internal MIS requirements are satisfied.

Graduate and / or other relevant professional qualification
Essential Skills and Experience
Proven credit assessment, financial analysis and credit writing skills, with the ability to quickly identify key issues and risks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good problem solving ability, a pragmatic approach and a strong commercial awareness.
Energy, drive and initiative to manage workload to challenging deadlines, a committed self-starter who takes ownership of tasks.
Capacity to build alliances and relationships with intermediaries, other lenders, management teams and equity sponsors and advisors.
Developed influencing and negotiation skills.
Strong team player with the capability to both work independently and as part of a team with the ability to contribute to the ongoing development of the wider team.
Must demonstrate either previous relevant origination experience or proven network of relevant intermediary relationships.
Several years lending experience preferably in Corporate/ Business Banking.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Whilst not essential, any of the following qualifications, skills and / or experience would be desirable;
Working knowledge of legal/ loan documentation
Professional Accountancy Qualification
QFA or Chartered Banker Qualification
