We are looking for a research scientist to help develop and commercialize AxoSim’s novel Nerve-on-a-Chip technology. We are searching for a driven, bright individual to bring their energy and expertise to bear on revolutionizing the course of pharmaceutical development.

In addition, this position has the potential for significant growth. The candidate will have the ability to lead projects involving the development and validation of novel drug development tools as well as work with some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. This will include working with both industry and academic collaborators, with a focus on developing long-term partnerships.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to publish their work while gaining valuable industry and entrepreneurial experience. Employees will be encouraged to engage in many aspects of guiding AxoSim’s research efforts, allowing for the development of important complementary skills.
The position may start as early as December 2018.

Critical Job Elements
Effectively communicate expectations, internally and externally; ensure the accuracy of requirements via project documentation and status reports

PhD or MS w/ 5+ years experience in neuroscience, neurobiology, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
Candidates must have strong working experience in ALL (4) of the following subjects listed below. Those who are missing experience will not be considered for this position.
Neuroscience, neurobiology, or neurodegenerative disease-related research experience
Experience in cell culture and/or stem cell biology
General understanding of tissue engineering, biomaterials, and/or 3D tissue culture
Candidates will have expertise in at least (1) of the following subjects listed below. Preference will be given to those with multiple skill sets.
Neural cell anatomy, toxicity, immunology, and/or development
Experience with neural-related drug development and toxicology
Neuronal and glial differentiation of ESC, iPSC, NSC
Organ-on-chip / 3D organoids
Experience in extracellular and/or in vivo recording and analysis of neural signal
