Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Field Survey Technician to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. The successful candidate will perform surveying services in the field as a part of a two - person crew.
Performing field work efforts for land surveying services of all types
Prepare field staking materials as necessary
Operate GPS and Robotic Total Station data collectors
Read and understand engineering and survey drawings, maps, exhibits and field layout documents
Maintain field equipment in a clean and secure manner
Load and unload field survey equipment and supplies to and from the survey truck
Perform pre - start vehicle checks to ensure operability maintenance and safety
Skills and Qualification
The applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of Land Surveying experience, 2 of which must have been as a Crew Chief or a Survey Technician in the office. Experience in a supervisory role and a working knowledge of AutoCAD is strongly desired. A combination of education and experience totalling 5 years may be accepted as qualifications for this position. This position will require:
Effective verbal communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team
A good work ethic
Solid time management skills
Technical skill in the use of Trimble survey equipment including GPS and Robotic Total Stations
Thorough understanding and interpretation of construction design drawings
Travel and out of town work when required
