Carson-Newman’s next leader will be a person of inspiration, imagination, and passion who displays exceptional interpersonal skills that complement a dynamic leadership style that enhances the academic and spiritual profile of the institution.
The President will recruit talented, effective, and diverse administrators to work as a team toward the continued distinction of the University. The President will be a committed Christian who holds traditional Baptist values and supports the institution’s heritage while nurturing relationships with friends of the University, Tennessee Baptists, and the public at large. The President should have a strong commitment to the highest academic quality, including outstanding teaching, scholarship, and service.
The President will serve as Carson-Newman’s primary advocate and will work closely with University faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community leaders to build support for its mission and vision. The President will have the responsibility of expanding the University endowment through aggressive fundraising as the University seeks to gain the interest and commitment of internal and external constituencies.
