Green Investment Group (GIG), part of Macquarie Capital, is an integral part of the global renewable energy industry, active in the financing, development, construction and management of renewable energy assets the world over. Macquarie and GIG have successfully executed PPA contracts to provide nearly 1.5GW of energy via corporate PPAs and have recently agreed one of the longest corporate PPAs to date at 29 years. In addition to C&I customers, GIG expects to work closely with utilities and energy traders across Europe to conclude PPA contracts.
This exciting new role will focus on originating, structuring and negotiating PPAs with these counterparties.
The job could be either UK or mainland Europe based, and comes with travel.
This is an opening for someone with a detailed understanding of structured energy transactions and contract negotiations (a minimum of three years' experience from originating, structuring and negotiating long-term contracts, preferably in a liberalised energy market in Europe) to assume responsibility for managing relationships with PPA originators at utilities (generators and retailers) and energy traders across Europe.
You must be fluent in English. Another European language is preferred, but is not essential.
This role is in Macquarie Capital, specifically within Green Investment Group (GIG). Macquarie Capital provides advisory and capital raising services to corporate and government clients involved in public mergers and acquisitions, private treaty acquisitions and divestments, debt and equity fundraising and corporate restructuring. GIG was acquired by Macquarie Group in 2017, creating one of Europe's largest teams of dedicated green infrastructure investors. It is a specialist in green infrastructure principal investment, project delivery and portfolio management, and related services. Its track record, expertise and capability make it a global leader in green investment across a broad range of technologies including onshore and offshore wind, solar, waste-to-energy, and energy efficiency/storage.
