Innovative Energy technology company is now looking to hire an Energy/Portfolio Analyst to join their commercial team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business influencing the new energy landscape by providing the technology to connect, control and manage energy generation, energy storage and energy using products.
This role is focused on assessing the various market opportunities for generating revenue, evaluating the revenue potential from various asset types and sites, and ensuring new partnerships are correctly commercially structured. The team focuses on the flexibility markets and ensures that the portfolios are optimised correctly. This role plays a key part in identifying new opportunities for energy flexibility. It will be actively involved with the flexibility markets, commercial structuring and portfolio performance reporting. You will use existing as well as developing new portfolio and asset valuation tools to value client portfolios and assess how risks will impact on the commercial viability. You will report on portfolio performance to ensure that maximum value is being created and also carry out research on market developments in the UK power and flexibility sector.
To be considered for this role you should have a quantitative background, ideally to MSc level with some exposure to the energy markets. You will need to demonstrate that you have strong quantitative problem solving and can deliver against tight deadlines. Work experience in the electricity or gas industry and programming experience (e.g. Python, VBA, C++/C#) is required.
As well as strong quantitative skills you will need to have well developed commercial skills and be highly motivated to learn new skills and provide solutions to new problems. You will need a strong interest in the energy markets and how new technology can be applied to them. Lastly this role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
