The Senior Business Development Manager (Sr. BDM) is responsible for developing new business opportunities by building strong, lasting relationships with clients and partners in the electric utility industry. The Sr. BDM will be able to gain a deep understanding of clients' pain points and develop value-based solutions that meet and/or exceed expectations. The Sr. BDM will work mostly independent and manage his/her own schedule, while maintaining comprehensive records in the CRM system and providing regular reports to management. The Sr. BDM will employ the help of other internal departments when roadblocks and potential barriers in the sales cycle are identified. The Sr. BDM will work closely with the marketing team and provide feedback as the voice of the customer to help refine and deliver meaningful content to our clients. The Sr. BDM will understand contracting requirements and be able to draft and/or give input in the creation of documents needed during the sales cycle. The Sr. BDM will earn a competitive base salary plus commissions on gross revenue, as well as full benefits and travel/expense reimbursements. Relocation is not required. Frequent travel is required for this position.

Drafting and reviewing contracts
Reporting on successes and areas needing improvements
Maintaining comprehensive records in the CRM throughout the sales cycle

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or relevant field of study
10 years of business development experience
Proven ability to meet sales targets >$1-2M
Knowledge of B2B contracting requirements and standard practices
Understanding of fiscal years and ability to prioritize sales efforts to meet bid cycles
High-level communication and presentation skills
Ability to qualify opportunities and setup cross-sell potential
Stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to negotiate
Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy
The ability to self-motivate and motivate a team
Experience meeting and/or exceeding sales targets
Prior experience selling to electric utilities as a supplier/vendor
UAS pilot with a Part 107 RPIC certificate
Telecommuting is allowed.
Additional Salary Information: Base salary plus commissions on gross revenue. Full benefits entitlement.
