Pace Academy is an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Ga., with an enrollment of 1050 students in Pre-First through 12th grades. Pace is seeking experienced Second, Third, and Fifth Grade Teachers for the 2019-20 academic year.

Enthusiasm for teaching, especially with young students, is a critical quality. He/she should possess a wealth of patience, energy and creativity to hold the attention of the class.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares course objectives and outlines for courses of study
Discusses assigned teaching areas with Associate Teacher to coordinate instructional efforts. This includes preparing lesson plans, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques to reach all learning modalities.
Creates and administers assessments
Models and reinforces the Lower School Code of Conduct
Reports student progress through regularly scheduled progress reports
Communicates effectively with parents in a timely manner
Leads parent teacher conferences
Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops; accumulates a minimum of 10 professional hours every 5 years
Attendance at faculty meetings, grade level parent gathering, admissions testing, Sunday Sundae, Open House, and Graduation is required.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A or B.S) in elementary education and a minimum of 2 years teaching experience are required. An advanced degree is preferred.
Georgia certification is required.
Proficient use of technology, including activboards is necessary.
Strong communication skills (oral and written)
Strong foundation in the methodologies of teaching core academic subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, social studies and science.
