Schwab’s Advice Academy is a 15-18 month rotational program that prepares you for future roles within Schwab’s Planning and Portfolio Group. It provides a foundational experience for a career providing individualized financial planning and advice to the full spectrum of clients at Schwab today. With a series of steps that includes classroom learning, on-the-job experience, industry credentials and formal mentorship, the Advice Academy is designed to position you for future success within a leading firm within the dynamic financial services industry.

Our Associate Advice Service Professionals inspire client loyalty by being the “Voice of Schwab” for our clients. Each interaction allows us the opportunity to build personalized relationships with each client. We are honored to have earned the trust and relationships we have with our clients.
What you’ll do:
As an Associate Advice Service Professional within Schwab’s Planning and Portfolio Group, you will perform rotational assignments supporting Schwab’s two primary digital advisory solutions – Schwab Intelligent Portfolios™ and Schwab Intelligent Advisory™ in addition to Schwab’s Schwab’s full suite of discretionary Managed Investing Solutions including Schwab Managed Portfolios™, Windhaven Portfolios™, and ThomasPartners™. You will also provide support to Schwab’s premier fee-based and non-discretionary investment advisory solution, Schwab Private Client. You will provide world-class service over phone, email and chat to understand client service needs and help them plan for their financial futures. You will also work with our Planning Consultants, Branch and network partners to support their client interactions.Additionally, you will have the opportunity to:

Provide investment education to our clients to empower them to make well-informed financial decisions
Uncover development opportunities to further deepen our clients’ overall relationship with Schwab
Upon completion of defined core milestones and licensing requirements, have the opportunity to assess client needs at point of contact to gain a thorough understanding of their overall financial picture and provide formal advice recommendations regarding Schwab’s suite of digital advisory solutions.
What you have:
Personal Financial Planning curriculum* completed (undergraduate or certificate), on track to sit for the CFP exam within 12 months of hire date (or already CFP certified)
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related area (preferred) completed prior to August 2019.
Demonstrated passion for service, financial planning and investing; strong client-focus and the desire to build and deepen relationships during each interaction using needs-based consultative approach
Well-developed and effective writing skills
Able to utilize non-verbal cues to better understand client needs and motivations; able to empathize with others' needs and respond sensitively; able to use good judgment when responding, and take action in order to successfully meet the client’s objectives.
Able to quickly learn new technology and utilize a variety of data and systems in order to proactively identify solutions to client financial needs.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in order to adhere to policies, procedures and guidelines.
Proven work ethic with a high level of integrity to build trust with our clients and internal partners
Collaborative and relationship-focused work style with demonstrated success in a team environment.
Open to ongoing coaching and development to achieve positive client outcomes and achieve professional career aspirations
Able to work in a structured schedule and a variety of shifts, which may include market (M-F daytime) hours, late nights, early mornings, as pre-determined by business need.
