ABN AMRO UK is part of the Corporate Banking business line and operates the following businesses in the UK:
Corporate and Institutional Banking - which includes Corporate Banking, Clearing Global Markets - Sales & Trading, Escrow & Settlement, and Financial Institutions
Commercial Banking which includes Asset Based Finance and International Desk, which provides transactional banking services
Our business lines are supported by a number of functions such as Risk, Compliance, Legal, IT, Finance (Including Tax), Business Management and Human Resources. We currently employ approx. 380 individuals in the UK.
About the role
Reports directly to the Commercial Director and supports the Relationship Directors (RD's) in the Specialist Asset Finance Team (SAF).
The SAF RD's will determine the day to day priorities and manage day to day activities. You would be responsible for first-stage analysing of prospective customers, existing customers and individual Asset Finance transactions. Would be involved in all stages of an asset finance transaction, from origination, planning, risk analysis, credit approval through to transaction structuring, legal negotiation and deal execution. This will require presence in customer meetings (customer facing) as required. The role has high potential and the role holder will be able to grow into the role of a Relationship Director within the SAF team.
You will be a member of the SAF team and would be responsible for:
Partnering with SAF RD's to deliver solutions for customers
Working with and providing assistance to SAF RD's to structure, negotiate and propose new funding requests.
Works directly with SAF RD's to obtain all necessary financial statements and transaction information in order to create and analyse funding requests.
Preparing financial spreads and risk rating score cards
Conducting company, industry and market analysis to further assess customer credit quality
Working with and supporting SAF RD's to maintain service levels during absences
Supporting and assisting wider UK team as workload dictates
Supporting sales team with a new proposals and reviews
Acting as a day to day relationship manager of "vanilla relationships"
Maintaining the relationship with all relevant stakeholders within AAL and ABN AMRO Bank (portfolio management)
Analysing and presenting financial and non-financial risks translating this into optimal credit structures for customers
Completing other duties and special projects as assigned
Interest in a career in financial services
1st Degree in BA /Finance / Economics, or a related discipline, MBA or Masters would be viewed positively but not essential.
Proven financial industry working experiences
Ability to interpret financial statements
Advanced understanding of financial ratios and business principles and strong analytical skills with an ability to question assumptions
