The Berkeley Carroll School seeks a highly motivated and engaging Associate Director of Admissions for the Middle and Upper School Divisions. The Associate Director of Admissions will be expected to introduce the Berkeley Carroll School, its curriculum, extra-curricular activities and community events, to prospective families, along with the director and other members of the admissions team. This is a full-time, 12-month position. Travel, evening and weekend work is required.
Reports to: The Director of Admissions for MS/US.
The Associate Director of Admissions works closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Admissions to manage the annual process of engaging, reviewing and selecting prospective students based on their readiness for the Berkeley Carroll curriculum. Applicants should be detail oriented and adept at organization and they should relish the opportunity to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment. An optimal candidate will have experience working in admissions, database management, independent schools and marketing. Exemplary people skills are required.
Specific responsibilities include:
Coordinating the Middle School Student Ambassador program, including recruitment, assignment of volunteers and communicating with administration and faculty during all student visits
Consistently communicating with prospective students and their families via email and phone (inbound and outbound) to build relationships and keep them fully engaged throughout the admission process
Conducting student and parent interviews and producing interview reports and acceptance letters
Representing the school at all admissions events, fairs and professional development conferences, including evening events throughout the year
Visiting schools and assisting in outreach to new schools
Greeting visiting families and children when the Assistant Director of Admissions is unavailable, or when visits overlap
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions

Qualifications and Requirements
A bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum 3-5 years of school experience, preferably in an independent school setting

Ability to uphold the integrity of the admissions process and maintain absolute confidentiality

Proficiency with student information systems and databases (Ravenna or other enrollment database)
Eagerness to learn about the school, its curriculum and admissions policies
Positive energy, flexibility and a desire to participate in the life of the school
Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as needed
