Job Summary: Nueces Electric Cooperative seeks high quality, career-oriented candidates to effectively and efficiently maintain and enhance the delivery of electric energy and related services to the Cooperative's membership by managing the activities and resources of the Engineering Department through planning, implementing and evaluating its functioning.
Responsible for the principal planning, coordinating, directing and controlling of long and short range system planning and design of distribution over head and underground facilities.
Minimizes flicker and brief service interruptions by being responsible for the principal planning, coordinating and controlling of line protective equipment.
Responsible for the principal planning, coordinating and controlling for computer and hard copy mapping system.
Responsible for the principal planning, coordinating and controlling for engineering staking activities and consumer requests and Line Department work flow procedures.
Coordinates the paper flow of the construction and operating endeavors of the Cooperative by preparing, or supervising the preparation of, reviewing, adjusting and approval of the work orders and proper administration of w/o procedures from new service application and staking to work order close-out.
Controls the quality of consulting services by routinely reviewing and adjusting various consulting engineer reports and plans.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb poles; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering and three to five years related experience with an Electrical Distribution Utility. Professional Engineer within the state of Texas or able to obtain within three years of employment. A Texas Class C Drivers License is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Five years experience in operations or engineering management or another management discipline. Knowledge of distribution overhead and underground systems designs, operations and maintenance as per RUS specifications in both 7.2 kV and 14.4 kV.
