Housing & Residential Programs Assistant Office of Student Life
The Office of Student Life (OSL) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for a Housing and Residential Programs Assistant. The Housing and Residential Programs Assistant will be part of the vibrant OSL team responsible for directing, advising, and supporting the following programs & services: Housing & Residential Programs; Student Centers, Organizations, & Events; Student & Intra-Campus Mail Services; and Conferences & External Events. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Residential Life & Housing, the Housing & Residential Programs Assistant supports the Assistant Directors in managing all student housing-related processes & procedures (utilizing the StarRez housing data system) and in supporting OSL's efforts with upperclass residential life programming & advisement. The position involves significant interaction & communication with students.

Responsibilities Some of the specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
front-line response (in-person, phone, email, etc.) to housing questions & inquiries from students, parents/families, & colleagues;
data collection, distribution, management, and execution for all student housing placements, lottery processes, and housing changes;
distribution, collection, and organization of student room keys/codes;
coordination & facilitation of the Housing Appeals process;
administrative support for residential life programming, including purchasing card management;
some evening & weekend hours will be necessary.
Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate will possess:
strong people skills, a friendly and approachable demeanor, and the ability to calmly de-escalate difficult situations;
significant data entry & database management experience & self-confidence to learn & fully utilize the StarRez system; experience with StarRez desirable;
strong attention to detail & strong organization skills;
the ability to work independently with self-motivation & flexibility while at the same time the ability to work positively & collaboratively as a member of a highly-developed, high-energy professional team;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; understanding of internet for marketing and website updating (WordPress desirable); ability to quickly learn additional specialized software (PeopleSoft, EMS, Conference Programmer, etc.);
Associate's degree and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience, or equivalent education & experience.
ability to carry and move equipment and supplies
This position is full-time (40hrs/wk.), year-round, regular appointment.
