Reports to: Director of Admissions, K-12 Position Type: Full-time, Exempt
Established in 1920, Bentley School is a K-12 co-educational, independent day school located on two campuses in Oakland (K-8) and Lafayette (9-12), California. Bentley seeks a dynamic, experienced individual to identify, recruit, admit, and retain qualified students from mission-minded families for its 9-12 program. The successful individual will have a strong work ethic and high energy to devote internally and externally to identifying and recruiting mission-minded families. The Associate Director of Admissions reports to the Director of Admissions, K-12.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Support Director of Admissions, K-12 in management of student recruitment efforts and application process for 9-12.
Prioritize visiting and building strong relationships with local feeder schools to ensure a continued robust partnership with Bentley.
Use demographic and market studies to plan strategically for outreach and recruitment efforts to increase applicant pool.
Review all applications for admissions.
Serve as representative at admissions events including, but not limited, to fairs, open houses, and tours as needed.
Lead Admissions Committee through file review and decision making process.
Support Director of Admissions, K-12 in the coordination of the admissions calendar.
Work closely with Division Directors, Registrar, Deans, and other key 9-12 offices to assure a smooth transition for prospective families.
Contribute to the publications that are part of the recruitment and admissions efforts including, but not limited to, the viewbook, electronic publications, special handouts and promotions for admissions events.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the admissions database, Ravenna, to assist with board reporting and data analysis.
Partner with the Director of Admissions, K-12 and the CFO on financial aid decisions for current and new 9-12 families.
Participate in school-wide events and activities as appropriate.
Keep abreast of enrollment management strategies and trends by attending professional development conferences and workshops.
Minimum of three years of experience in an independent school admissions office preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to be highly confidential in handling sensitive personal and institutional knowledge
Self-starter who has the capacity to plan, execute, and evaluate enrollment plans
Ability to collaborate well in a school setting, building a positive, productive, welcoming team environment
Fluency in Microsoft applications and Google applications required. Experience with Ravenna preferred.
