International School of Brooklyn (ISB) is an independent, non-profit school that is known for its innovative and robust Nursery–8th Grade French and Spanish language immersion program and International Baccalaureate curriculum. Key Responsibilities include
The Admissions Associate reports to the Director of Admissions and works with all constituents – students, parents, and teachers - in the International School of Brooklyn community in support of the school’s mission. The Admissions Associate is responsible for supporting the work of the Admissions Office.
This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, time-management and organizational abilities, and a high energy level. Candidates must be comfortable communicating and marketing ISB’s academic program and school culture. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to understanding language immersion and IB education. Previous experience in admissions and working with admissions databases is preferred but not required.
Work with the Director of Admissions and Head of School to develop and execute an admissions plan that meets enrollment goals and appeals to a diverse pool of well-qualified applicants
Help guide families through their journey from inquiry through admission and enrollment
Help identify “right-fit” students and families through review of materials and interviews (as needed)
Answer inquiry calls and speak knowledgeably about ISB: its mission, culture, and educational framework
Update and maintain admission and enrollment database
Collaborate with communications team in the design and decision-making related to all admissions and marketing materials (print and digital)
Help plan, schedule, and set up admissions events, and attend school fairs
Lead tours with prospective families
Schedule tour and interview appointments and maintain admissions calendars
Organize and assist with student visits and assessments (including assisting with the school’s Parent Ambassador program)
Build relationships with parents and other community groups within ISB and beyond
Flexibility to work long hours, occasional evenings and weekends during peak admissions season
Ability to work in French a significant advantage
Comfort with technology and using student information systems is a must
