Do you like working with numbers, performing analyses and researching data? If so, we are seeking someone to provide analysis and research in order to support the Company’s rate design, while working with outside agencies to meet filing requirements.
Assume responsibility for meeting Sunflower Electric Power Corporation’s (Sunflower) regulatory filing requirements with the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) under the guidance of the Manager, Regulatory Relations. Support Sunflower’s rate design and analysis process and provide research support as needed.
Gain advanced knowledge of utility ratemaking and legal processes.
Build strong working relationships with various people in a variety of specialties across the industry.

Bachelor degree in economics, business administration, finance, accounting, or related field, and one year of a business graduate level program or one year experience in regulatory affairs, regulated rate design, accounting, and/or legal and compliance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Organizational and time management skills. Able to manage multiple priorities and the duties of others which includes information gathering and coordinating with internal departments.
Accuracy and attention to detail and able to plan, organize, and follow through under strict deadlines.
Able to effectively communicate Sunflower’s position on regulatory initiatives.
Able to interpret and apply regulations to Sunflower.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to present information to disparate audiences including regulators in a calm, professional, and concise manner.
Analytical skills with ability to synthesize information related to rates and regulatory issues to develop a working solution.
