Works closely with senior technical and banking professionals, product specialists, clients and other internal and external constituencies to help drive business delivery and growth. Contributes to Geoscience, Engineering and Petrophysical technical work to further business development and/or product/client delivery and relationships. Assists in the generation of ideas and strategies and marketing/presentation materials for new business opportunities. Contributes and executes processes required to convert technical ideas to opportunity proposals, including due diligence execution and client pitch preparation. Contributes to all aspects of transaction pitch execution, including organizing data and handling data exchange with internal and external constituencies, and building marketing materials for Sell Side and Buy Side engagements for data room and electronic distribution. Follows all risk related practices and policies. The successful candidate will serve in a broad technical contributing role for the Lantana Energy Advisors team and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey Energy Investment Banking Platform with roles and responsibilities ranging from data QA/QC, management and organization to technical work products focusing on the Subsurface (Primary role) and Engineering capacity (Secondary). The role encompasses primary support function to Senior staff (Managing Directors and Subsurface lead) on all projects including Buy Side, Sell Side, Basin Studies, research and new opportunity analysis across the Upstream and Midstream industries. The successful candidate will have varying degrees of client facing exposure including supporting the LEA team in Data Room presentations.
If not already licensed, the successful candidate will need to achieve FINRA licensing, including passing the Series 79 and Series 63 certification tests. STRH provides training support and [1 year] for preparation and passing the tests.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements: × BA/BS degree × 4 years of related work experience × Knowledge of Upstream Oil and Gas Market, Acquisitions and Divestiture market and processes, preferred prior exposure to Investment Banking market and/or financial sector × Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts to facilitate the creation or review of in-depth financial models involved in transactions × Strong technical capabilities and organizational skills × Advanced skills in written and oral communications, and interpersonal relationship management
Solid analytical, power-point presentation, and data organization and management skills
Bachelor Science Degree with Earth Science/Geoscience focus
MBA degree, with a Finance focus
6 years of related work experience
