The Associate, Software Developer is responsible for leading design and implementation, support and maintenance of the Bank's applications and analytic tools, supporting Banking, Treasury, Risk, Finance, Corporate and other teams in the execution of their business processes. The role involves applying both business and technical expertise to deliver customer focused support and development services, potentially in a DevOps pipeline with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), but also facilitating manual deployment for legacy applications where necessary.

2.1. Associate Software Developer, Analytics
Tableau Suite 10+, IBM Cognos 10+, Oracle 11g, Star schema design (Kimball methodology)
Desirable to have analysis and design experience within Informatica PowerCentre, (Workflow Designer, Monitor, Manager).
Direct experience of Oracle PL/SQL
Good understanding of Kimball methodology / star schema design

Purpose of Job:
The Associate, Software Developer Analytics, is a multi-disciplinary role centred around the creation and maintenance of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for internal clients at EBRD, the design of which meet the Bank's on-going operational and management information reporting requirements. Working with business users across most departments of the Bank, deliverables range from stand-alone requests to develop reports, to large scale BI design and build projects. This allows the Bank to consistently and accurately report on its global headline investments, internal processes, and more generally facilitate timely on-going operational decision making.
Role Specific Background:
The Analytics group primarily utilises IBM Cognos (10.2.2), Tableau Desktop / Server (2018.2), Informatica PowerCenter (10.1) and Oracle (Kimball data warehouse) to deliver BI functionality, reports, alerts, cubes and dashboards. The Assoc. role is geared around front end enhancements or development (reports, dashboards, alerts etc. via IBM Cognos and Tableau), logical design of extracts or extract changes (for delivery by Data Integration), Data Warehouse Architecture (Design) and BI Applications support to define and deliver BI products and solutions. The role is multidisciplinary - part developer (65% out build in Cognos and Tableau), part Business Analyst (25% capture requirements, developing a deep understanding of business processes), and part agile coach (10% coordinating between the BI team, business unit and source application teams to ensure that solutions and business processes are appropriately aligned)
Role Specific Facts / Scale:
Deliverables range from 10-20 short term minor enhancements per month to 4/5 long term large scale BI projects per year. Across the team, responsible for delivering to fifteen or more major areas of the business. No formal managerial / line responsibility (scrum / Kanban lead)
Role Specific Accountabilities and responsibilities:
Responsible for design, development and delivery of Data Analysis and Reporting solutions, including providing advice on methods and approaches, to support critical decision making at the bank ( IBM Cognos ,Tableau)
Responsible for Business Analysis, requirements capture, ETL logical design to ensure consistency and accuracy of reports and adding value with deep understanding and experience of business processes
Manage clients, workload, priorities and expectations on a daily basis to ensure the business can manage its workloads appropriately
Retain direct responsibility of deliverables, adopt a position of oversight and co-ordination, where the solution is to be delivered through other members in the team to ensure end to end delivery for the client
Responsible for developing and implementing best practice development design and change control standards to ensure total cost of ownership is kept to a minimum.
Accountable for BI input to all major project developments where there is a reporting element in order to ensure adequate planning of resources and compliance to data warehouse standards
Advise on and maintain overall design integrity for all solutions and ensure that they are either ratified internally by the Data warehouse Architect or agreed upon collaboratively to make sure all strategic objectives are met.
Maintain relevant perspectives on Data warehouse and Business Intelligence tools, technologies, development and methodologies to ensure the business is using the best available tools
Deputise for the Principal, BI Modelling and Reporting when necessary to ensure business continuity
Role Specific Knowledge Skills Experience and Qualifications :
Education & Qualifications:
Educated to degree level.
10 years' experience in relevant financial sector
Qualifications/certifications in Data Modelling, Data Warehouse design or Business Intelligence products an advantage.
K nowledge & Experience:
Extensive knowledge of IBM Cognos and Tableau reporting technologies.
Extensive experience of analysis, design and implementation of Business Intelligence solutions, preferably in a Retail or Investment Banking environment.
Working knowledge of relevant Extract, Transform and Load tools an advantage (Informatica ideally)
Good knowledge of databases and SQL (Oracle, SQL Server)
Track record in delivering results by setting clear goals and objectives for self and others.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills based on data modelling and design of Data warehouse solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate appropriate, concise and accurate information to a wide variety of audiences both within and outside of the EBRD.
Excellent interpersonal skills, in particular service orientation, organisational awareness and people empathy.
Fluency in written and spoken English
Ability to operate sensitively and effectively in a multicultural environment
Role Specific Challenges:
The role has to balance different cross department priorities to deliver report developments within strict timeframes to meet changing business needs
The role has to combine a high degree of business expertise and common market practices with IT technical skills, with ability to use these to address EBRD specific requirements.
The role requires collaborative skills to bring together different IT teams to deliver cross system solutions to meet business requirements.
