Provides consulting leadership and subject matter expertise in the employee benefits arena, particularly to health, life, and/or disability and absence management. This position is located in our Boston office.
Spring provides strategic consulting including actuarial and underwriting services to major employers, associations and insurance and financial services organizations throughout the world. Our consulting team has extensive industry experience in areas such as risk management, actuarial, health care, life insurance, disability and absence management, employee benefits and property & casualty consulting, retirement and pension services. In addition, the firm provides strategic consultation directly to employers on the use of captive insurance facilities in the employee benefits and property & casualty area.
You will work closely with Spring’s consultants and clients in the following areas:
Manage client engagements including relationship expansion and assuring timely, clearly communicated client deliverables
Maintain deep regulatory knowledge including ERISA, FMLA, ADA, State and Municipal leave laws, captive regulation and/or healthcare reform
Analyze data and information, interpret findings and convert results into effective client deliverables
Develop and maintain TPA, carrier and reinsurance relationships
Preparation of client proposals, engagement letters and deliverables
Peer review the work of other team members and assist with finding reviews
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of employee benefits health, life and/or disability and absence management consulting and client management experience. Key characteristics include:
Strong problem solving and project management skills
Experience in large group claims, underwriting or data analytics
Superior ability communicate (in both oral and written forms) across multiple levels and audiences
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and excellent Excel modeling and data management skills
High degree of customer focus and responsiveness
Ability to deliver high quality work on deadline
Proven project management skills and use of various tools and communication methods
Flexibility and energy to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment
