Responsibilities: Act as a Business Analyst for the Sub-ledger/Regulatory projects. This will involve being a central contact to link the Sub-ledger user community with the technology/Ops teams. The work will involve the implementation and management of firm wide initiatives where it relates to the Finance system and also specific business initiatives being carried out.
Project work will involve the following:
Analysis of the finance process flow in order to streamline it or determine the effect of changes made to it.
Specification of the required process and system enhancements based off the above
On-going liaison with Technology to oversee all aspects of development and implementation
Design and co-ordination testing and cut over efforts required for each release
Building effective working relationships across all derivative operational areas to gain synergies and maximize benefits and return from re-engineering the process flow
Supporting the day to day issues surrounding the new process flow
Accounting- Experience in analysis and designing business processes, including designing and implementing improvements to business process around finance and operations functions.
Project Experience - Exposure to end to end implementation project (preferably in finance functions) involving system and process change
Communication - Candidate needs to be comfortable in interfacing to a cross-section of groups at various levels, including Front Office, Operations, Finance and Technology teams.
Excel - The ability to analyze results in excel is key to being able to carry out this role effectively (not necessarily Visual Basic, but pivots and formulae knowledge needed)
Database - A knowledge of databases will help with working with Sub-ledgers and with analysis and testing
Technology exposure - Experience of working with Technology teams in order to deliver on projects and initiatives
Derivatives Knowledge - Experience/Knowledge of Financial Markets and Products
Legal GL reporting /ARAP Knowledge - Knowledge of Financial control process, including month end GL posting and legal reporting requirements. Also need knowledge of the Cash control and ARAP processes.
