AIChE is a professional society of more than 60,000 chemical engineers in 110 countries. Its members work in corporations, universities and government, using their knowledge of chemical processes to develop safe and useful products for the benefit of society. Through its varied programs, AIChE continues to be a focal point for information exchange on the frontiers of chemical engineering research in such areas as energy, sustainability, biological and environmental engineering, nanotechnology, and chemical plant safety and security.
Under the direction of the Director of Development, the Manager of Development will support efforts to secure and grow financial support for our organization. The Manager of Development will support strategies and build relationships with individual and corporate donors, maintain knowledge of donor interests to align with the organizations strategic initiatives, and ensure donor funded programs are well orchestrated. The Manager will focus their development activities while overseeing our annual donors mid-level gifts. He/she will support the Director of Development in securing major and corporate donors, along with the renewal of existing donors. He/she will support the successful implementation of donor recognition/fundraising events, development of peer to peer development plans, and governance efforts to build a sustained growing donor community.
The successful individual will build lasting relationships with donors, and keep them informed on how their financial support is making the world a better place.
Work closely with the foundation leadership to achieve topline revenue targets, help develop and sustain a growing pool of annual donors, major donors, corporate donors and renewal of existing donors to ensure growth of the foundation.
Coordinate donor cultivation events and fundraising events (e.g., talking points, phone calls, meetings, vendors, etc.) - prepare senior staff and board members on next steps and document notes
Actively monitor and develop the prospect pipeline— developing strategies in moving potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and gift closure
Develop and execute the fundraising strategies, concept, and materials for annual giving appeals
Prepare customized gift proposals, reports, acknowledgment letters and other stewardship communications as appropriate for major and corporate donors
Responsible for the Foundation Board of Trustees governance, engagement with Trustees to ensure 100% giving; manage Meetings; activation of our Foundation Board of Trustees community, and develop new trustees
Bachelor's degree in business, or non-profit management preferred or relevant discipline
5-8 years of proven Fundraising expertise; business development experience a plus
Demonstrated track record of securing annual and major gifts from individuals and corporations
Proficient with individual and/or corporate solicitations
Goal oriented professional with excellent project and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines
Excellent written communication and presentation skills
Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills; with an attention to details
Expert in creating Board presentations
Must be proficient in the use of MS Office products and social media platforms
Demonstrated experience working successfully within a highly collaborative and collegial organization
Excellent understanding of best practices
