Great River Energy is seeking a truck driver/warehouse worker at our Elk River, MN facility to operate tractor/trailers, trucks and other special equipment as well as assist with warehouse, inventory stocking and delivery of materials.
Operates company fleet equipment over 10,000# GVWR and other special heavy equipment as required.
Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the secure and safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
Assists in loading and unloading truck/trailer.
Prioritizes customer requests and coordinates the materials requested and the schedule of deliveries to ensure optimum efficiency and cost control.
Develops strong working relationships with customers to assist in identifying and prioritizing customer requests, managing expectations and executing deliverables in an efficient manner and at the same time satisfying the customer’s needs.
Stores supplies and equipment in accordance to established procedures in storage yards, as well as in warehouse.
Assists in the filling and shipment of requisition orders.
Assists in the assembly and preparation of requested inventory items for pick-up or delivery as needed.
Operates forklifts and other standard warehouse equipment as needed.
Performs responsibilities of material handler position such as assembles and prepares requested inventory items for pick-up or delivery, places inventory material in proper bin location, identifies and re-bins surplus returned material and proper handling and storage of hazardous material for disposal.
Knowledge typically acquired through a high school diploma and three to five years commercial driving experience.
Must possess skills to operate heavy equipment for transportation purposes.
Must possess and maintain proper class A CDL license and endorsements and current medical card.
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with contractors, vendors and other customer-related activities.
Must possess an effective working knowledge of the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) Rules and Regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Rules and Regulations.
Must be able to perform data entry functions within automated Materials Management System (MMS).
Working conditions will be indoors and outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather conditions of extreme cold or heat.
Ability to perform occasional overnight travel, overtime and/or working weekends. Must be able to travel to various locations throughout Minnesota daily and North Dakota on occassion.
