Cantor Fitzgerald: Equity-Linked Capital Markets Analyst
Cantor's Equity-Linked Capital Markets ("ELCM") group originates and executes public and private equity-linked offering, for our clients with a focus on healthcare technology and energy clients. Our team partners with the firm's investment banking professionals advising corporations and private companies globally on equity-linked issuance and other aspects of the equity-linked capital markets.
As a product focused group rather than industry focused we have access to a wide array of clients. Equity-Linked Capital Markets sits at the intersection of a variety of financing alternatives for cooperate clients including; Equity, Private Debt, High Yield and Bank Debt requiring a candidate to develop a familiarity with each product. Providing them with a uniquely broad knowledge base for future opportunities they might pursue.
The ECLM team is seeking highly motivated, talented candidates with requisite experience for an analyst position. Analysts are expected to play a meaningful role in the transaction process and overall growth of the franchise.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with strong analytical experience, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A position within Equity-Linked Capital Markets will require a candidate to develop a familiarity with bond math, as well as option pricing models (Black Scholes model)
Given Cantor Fitzgerald's entrepreneurial environment, the firm expects Analysts to assume increasing levels of responsibility
Pitch and execute ELCM deals including convertible bonds, mandatory convertibles, pre-IPO convertibles and convertible preferreds
Execution of mandated deals includes structuring, negotiation of legal documents and coordination of distribution with syndicate and sales and trading teams
Assist with strategic and financial analysis for preparation of pitch documentation and liaise with relevant investment banking and sales and trading teams
Examine the strategic and financial merits of proposed transactions for marketing purposes
Research potential targets, markets and uncover trends from available public information
Conducting extensive financial modeling and valuation
1-2 years of experience in investment banking
Bachelor's degree from a leading university in finance, accounting or economics with minimum GPA of 3.5
Strong financial and analytical skills essential with a view to distilling complex concepts in a succinct presentation
Proven ability to work well both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment often with competing work streams and deadlines
Exceptional work ethic, and interpersonal and time management skills with ability to handle competing work streams and often with competing deadlines
Highly organized, proactive and detail oriented
Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Factset and Dealogic
Basic familiarity with Black Scholes Option Valuation or Bond Math
Interest in growth sectors, including life sciences, biotechnology, renewable energy and technology
Interest in handling large data sets with a view to distilling complex concepts into succinct presentations
