Key responsibilities of the role:
Idea generation - aware of trends and developments within the Energy/Industrials market and combines this with product knowledge to spot opportunities for CS to assist clients.
Production of pitches - works with Analysts & Associates to produce well-argued presentations and detailed analysis. Increased involvement in design and structure of presentations, due to increased ability to stand back and see the bigger picture.
Origination and Execution of Industrial situations
Needs strong analytic and broad public deal experience in the Industrials space
Building of client relationships through formal and informal meetings and telephone discussions.
Liaises with advisors, lawyers, accountants and other counter parties to produce various transaction documentation.
Builds complex financial models, works with clients to develop inputs and modelling approach and uses output to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
Travels with clients to visit investors worldwide through road shows and other PR activities.
Management and development of Analysts/Associate and takes a prominent role in training initiatives for junior colleagues.
Agricultural Efficiency, Auto motives, Building Materials, Business Services, Capital Goods, Chemicals, Diversified Industrials, Paper and Packaging. The team continuously supports the transformation of the European, Middle East and African as well as the Global landscape in each of the verticals it covers and has a consistent track record with high profile EMEA and Cross-Border transactions such as the CHF 80bn merger between Holcim and Lafarge, Bayer's $63bn Acquisition of Monsanto, Praxair's $70bn+ merger with The Linde Group, ChemChina's $46bn acquisition of Syngenta, Brookfield / CDPQ $13bn acquisition of Johnson Control Power Solutions, ABB's $11bn sale of Power Grids division, Rio Tinto's $4.2bn sale of various assets to Glencore, White haven Coal and EMR Capital / PR Adaro and CHF1.5bn IPO of SIG. Dealing with client on detailed, day-to-day aspects of a transaction
Liaising with client's other advisers, lawyers, accountants and other counterparties
Outstanding verbal presentation of analysis recommendations to clients of all levels
Supervising complex financial models, working with clients and other advisers to develop inputs and modelling approach and using output to draw conclusions and make recommendations
Lead and review due diligence materials
Producing documents for CS internal approval processes
Technical/business skills & knowledge:
Strong modelling and technical skill set
Awareness of the Chemicals Industrials sector in the EMEA market is a plus!
Able to produce technically excellent written materials - prospectuses, credit committee, investment banking committee memos, client pitches
Able to use technical skills and knowledge to solve problems and give advice
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to multi-task across many tasks and projects and plan ahead
Able to present in a measured, clear, articulate way - in particular with regard to technical issues
Able to manage, train and coach juniors
Able to work fairly autonomously with limited supervision, self-reliant, great common sense
