The Graduate Assistant for Admissions works to assist Enrollment Counselors in their college recruitment efforts. This person will assist in the recruitment of high school students and contribute to the recruitment process by supporting the enrollment office. This position will be assigned to support territory recruitment across multiple states or territories, and travel is required. The individual selected will aid Enrollment Counselors in contacting new leads. This person must have strong relationship building skills and be able to promote the University to high school students. This role suits someone who is a self-starter, likes to travel, and can make independent decisions that lead to student transformation by selecting CCU as their university of choice.
Graduate Assistant Program Details
The Graduate Assistant position is a minimum of a two year commitment and coincides with the entrance into and completion of a graduate program at CCU. Students may take 2-3 years to complete their academic program, depending on the program selected. Graduate Assistants are expected to complete a minimum of two years of service, and to stay in their role through the end of the fiscal year (June 30) in which they complete their graduate program.
The Graduate Assistant must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university and be accepted and enrolled in one of CCU’s graduate programs. The standard workweek is 25 hours per week and will not exceed an average of 29 hours per week during the year.
Compensation includes a monthly stipend of $583 and tuition waiver for completion of a master's degree through Colorado Christian University's College of Adult and Graduate Studies. The recipient is responsible for student fees each semester.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Enrollment Counselors in connecting prospective students and their families with Colorado Christian University by building positive relationships and explaining why a Christ-centered education fits the student’s long term goals.
Connect high school students, college transfer students, and other potential students with the traditional undergraduate program, and their Enrollment Counselor.
Travel throughout designated territories. This travel may consist of being out of the office for a week at a time to support university Enrollment Counselors.
Assist Enrollment Counselors in completing the full admissions process.
Work in a team environment to meet the totality of assigned admission goals and objectives each academic year.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into one of CCU's graduate programs is required.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member and as an individual contributor.
Able to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment and simultaneously manage multiple tasks. Work under deadlines and manage time effectively.
Able to learn and use admission software, along with other Microsoft Office programs.
Energetic, self-starter, results-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Positive demeanor and professional appearance are required.
Nature of Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to drive a vehicle, fly by plane, or other modes of transportation within assigned territory. You may be required to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends, and travel occasionally to meet with students, parents, and schools.
