The Commercial Development Product Manager at CSL Behring is unquestionably a heftier role than the typical Product Manager position in “big pharma”. As a key player on a lean team responsible for the design and delivery of a full portfolio of Transplant pipeline assets, “product management” means understanding the external environment, identifying needs, leveraging your business acumen to propose options about efficient resource utilization, working with Marketing or cross functional partners to answer business problems, and then creating and conveying a concise narrative. This role requires energy, creativity and attention to detail. As the Transplant TA grows you will be developing and honing career-defining leadership skills in a space where the unmet need is high. In this context, “leading without authority” means owning the assignment and creating collaborative relationships in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Responsible for implementation of global marketing strategies for products in development within the transplant franchise using appropriate resources. Ensure that defined strategies are applied globally. Global marketing strategies include: • Development of value proposition for development products • Core global positioning concepts and messages • Core global marketing programs • Global brand guidelines and launch packages in digital and traditional forms
Implement Global Launch Team (GLT) defined tactical priority initiatives. This may include: • Transformation of defined strategy in promotional activities • Pre-marketing/launch concepts for new products/new markets
Monitor and contribute to key product development milestones via the R&D project management process. Responsible for definition of Marketing Mix in collaboration with other members of the respective Commercial Development group and the Commercial Ops Regions.
Responsible for communication concerning the respective portfolio: • Support development and implementation of communication plan • Participation at congresses, symposia, meetings, • Support Commercial Operations Regions for customer support (e.g. Opinion Leaders, Patient Organizations)
Disseminate product experience and product strategy to Commercial Operations Regions, realizing that approaches can be country/ region specific. Develop global training platform and where appropriate, perform training.
Provide critical analysis of own and competitive products in collaboration with internal and external partners (market analysis, sales data analysis, market research, where appropriate) for use in formulating marketing and selling strategies and activities in the regions.
Maintain or develop relationships with key internal groups (including Commercial Operations Regions, R&D, Legal, Finance, etc.) and with key external groups (OP-Leaders, Patient organizations etc) related to transplant product portfolio when appropriate.
Bachelors' degree in life sciences or healthcare discipline; MBA preferred • 5-7 years' marketing experience with 1-2 years' experience in pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry • Experience applying market research with an understanding of relevant pharmaceutical marketing tools effective within the respective region
