Coordinates the operation of Hoosier Energy’s Energy Management System and supporting systems as required by the MISO market and the NERC requirements. Builds and maintains supporting databases to ensure the reliable operation of Hoosier Energy’s SCADA system and transmission network. Works together as a team with all interfaces of the EMS and its data users to support compliance and business decisions. Maintains and supports NERC operation and CIP compliance as is related to communications and energy management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and maintains Hoosier Energy’s Energy Management System. Manages system hardware and software including essential operating systems, servers and RTU’s. Builds, maintains and verifies databases supplying critical data to the EMS.
Supports and develops EMS subsystems that are critical to the operation of Hoosier Energy’s power network. Supports and develops subsystems that are critical to Hoosier Energy business decisions. Manages data as required under the FERC code of conduct.
Manages and maintains certificates for access to third party web interfaces that are critical to the operation and visibility of the MISO footprint. Reviews data and submits reports to support these systems and other MISO portal activities as required.
Assists Hoosier Energy’s Compliance Department to assure compliance with NERC/Regional Reliability Standards applicable with the System Control Energy Management System. Assists system control staff in the development of Energy Management System displays to ensure situational awareness and efficient operations.
Assures compliance with NERC/Regional Reliability Standards applicable with the System Control Activities under the direction of Hoosier Energy’s Compliance Department.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer/Telecommunication related field
Five to Seven years’ experience
NERC Certification is preferred (Balancing Authority and Transmission Operator or Equivalent)
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple projects with varying scopes and timelines
Familiarity with EMS database management
Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels and work as part of a team
Ability to analyze and interpret load data
Demonstrated level of professionalism, positive attitude and ability to motivate others
Advanced computer skills
