Uses the Cooperative’s system maps and interprets staking sheets, understands overhead, underground and special construction specifications, reads circuit and sectionalizing diagrams and is familiar with the proper operation and application of all sectionalizing devices used on the Cooperative’s system to renders prompt, efficient and reliable electric service. Uses materials and supplies required for line construction to ensure construction is done according to specifications. Performs all necessary activities in the construction and maintenance of energized and de-energized overhead and underground distribution lines, according to RUS specifications and as detailed on the staking sheet to ensure safe, efficient and reliable electric service. Performs all the duties of a grounds worker, equipment operator and lineworker; as well as properly using and keeping trucks, tools and assigned equipment in good working order. Accepts outage calls, during and outside of business hours, to quickly restore electric service should an outage occur. Observes all Cooperative safety rules and makes complete use of safety equipment furnished by the Cooperative in order to comply with these rules.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from vocational/technical school in the power line studies field.
Experience: Experience, training, testing and abilities of a qualified journey lineworker, and have completed a recognized apprenticeship training program.
Knowledge: Must possess a valid Minnesota driver's license with the Class A CDL endorsement. Required to observe all traffic laws, rules and regulations in the operation of cooperative vehicles. Must remain insurance to operate all Cooperative vehicles required for the position. Use two-way radio and comply with operating practices in its use to assure for safe construction of the electric system. Understand that considerable hazards exist, including falls, electric shock, electric flash, automobile traffic, and falling objects.
