You Will Be Responsible For:
Responsible for the system-wide development and implement of policies and procedures directed toward energy conservation and cost reduction; with consideration for long range energy management innovation in compliance with established regulatory standards. Expertise with lighting retrofits and building automation systems to drive energy savings.
Assists campus directors and maintenance managers in evaluating HVAC and energy equipment maintenance to ensure optimal effectiveness and provide necessary related training.
Develops support and training programs to ensure all staff is knowledgeable of current Life Safety codes and regulations with regulatory agency requirements (NFPA, AHCA, Joint Commission), and with internal policies and procedures.
Actively participates in the capital planning process to infuse sustainable design measure in future new construction projects. Develops capital and repair projects for energy savings that have a reasonable return of investment for the purpose of making cost effective energy savings retrofits.
Strategic business planning for developing and deploying Enterprise platforms such as Enterprise Building Management Systems.
Ensures Energy Mgmt and Control Systems departments maintain effective and appropriate communication and customer service within all sectors of the community including; approval agencies, community boards and private citizens.
WhatYou Will Need:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or related field with emphasis on Facilities Management
If no bachelor's degree:
Four years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or other related experience. Five years' experience in energy management, mechanical systems design, construction, and /or maintenance, or closely related field. Three years of leadership experience

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or related field with emphasis on Facilities Management
Ten or more years' experience in healthcare facilities management
Professional designation as Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
Ability to budget and project manage turnkey mechanical, automation, water conservation, lighting and other forms of conservation type projects
Ability to assist with or directly oversee retro-commissioning activities
Technical expertise in automation and Ethernet networks/networking
The Director of Control Systems and Energy Management works to reduce energy costs and mitigate adverse environmental impact of energy utilization through the development of sustainable design and operational practices. Focus is placed on energy efficiency, by improved lighting, water conservation, distributed and renewable energy technologies, and support for improved utility management decisions at all AdventHealth locations.
