Crane Country Day School is hiring a full-time Assistant to the Head of School. The assistant to the head is a highly visible individual at the school who works closely with the head of school to oversee the well?being of the school and the overall school community. The assistant to the head plays a major role in the life of the school and this person is expected to be deeply involved in day?to?day work with faculty and students.
Education & Experience:
A four-year degree, preferably in a relatable field of study.
Two or more years of experience in a similar role.

Expertise in writing, editing, and proofreading

Collaborative nature and team-building skills
High energy and enthusiasm for school life
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times
Sophisticated computer skills including ease with bulk email; creating and utilizing complex spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations; Google Suite
Enthusiasm for learning and taking on tasks that may be unfamiliar
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Actively manages head of school’s calendar, schedules meetings, and coordinates with all-school events
Provides support services for the school’s board of trustees: communications regarding general and community-level meetings; serves as recording secretary at general meetings; supports board chair; coordinates the yearly board calendar with committee chairs
Serves as recording secretary at faculty meetings; distributes communications between the head of school and faculty
Handles the head of school’s correspondence and mail
Prepares and edits articles, reports, and presentations
Makes travel and guest arrangements
Provides general secretarial duties to support the main office, and plays a key role in keeping the office running smoothly
Serves as principle liaison for Parents for Crane (PFC), and offers support to the PFC president
Coordinates faculty recruitment and hiring efforts
Works closely with development office to create annual community directory, faculty/student planners, and calendars
Performs other duties as assigned
