Implement global strategic growth as it relates to lateral partner recruitment. Maintain, improve, and execute systems for firm-wide partner recruiting over the entire recruiting life cycle, and manage these efforts on a day-to-day basis. Coordinate best in class onboarding and integration programs for partners. Prioritize diversity and help develop strategy for recruiting diverse talent. Work collaboratively with other Dechert business professionals on firm communications and branding that is directly relevant to strategic growth.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
In collaboration with CSO, Deputy Chair and other firm leadership including major Practice Groups and key geography leaders, implement recruitment strategy, utilizing best in class intelligence and market research.
Analyze trends and overall firm performance as it relates to partner level hires, target groups and firm acquisitions, and integration of new partners. Track metrics to measure lateral success.
Collaborate with the PR and communications teams on announcing new lateral partners and on the development of other relevant internal and external materials (e.g., lateral partner and HH pitches).
Strategically recruit diverse talent and lead efforts to comply with the Mansfield Rule.
Cultivate relationships and partnership approach with preferred search firms and serve as a primary contact for search firms throughout the hiring process.
Review and monitor search agreements.
Draft a range of materials including reports, memos, talking points, and brochures as well as PowerPoint presentations.
Coordinate recruitment diligence items including conflicts reviews, development of financial modeling, and background checks.
Manage efforts to improve candidate experiences, interviews, and Policy Committee (Polcom) presentations.
Implement onboarding and integration strategy for each lateral, regularly assess progress, address issues and concerns and augment the approach as necessary.
Manage senior coordinator and coordinator, and work across other business functions (e.g., research, finance, practice management) to accomplish essential job functions.
Complete special projects as needed for efficient functioning of lateral partner recruitment.
QUALIFICATIONS / KSAs:
Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree a plus.
Minimum of 5 years relevant professional and management experience.
Law firm experience required.
Strong interpersonal skills, charismatic, and high energy level.
Team player, leader, and good collaborator.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Communicate effectively with practice group heads, team members, lawyers, search firms, and others.
Ability to work with vendors and get best prices.
Ability to travel.
